DEPOT RESTORATION
The Aberdeen Main Street Office is located in the beautifully restored Kansas City Southern depot on East Commerce Street. The restoration project was a major accomplishment with combined efforts from national grant and local volunteer labor.
RENT FORGIVENESS
In 2020, COVID-19 disrupted businesses worldwide. Aberdeen Main Street responded quickly, advocating for local businesses by contacting landlords to request rent forgiveness during this unprecedented time.
POCKET PARKS IN GRECIAN PATH AND COOPERWOOD COURTYARD
Once-underused space now serves as vibrant pocket parks that add beauty, activity, and life to our downtown. These projects reflect our commitment to thoughtful placemaking and creating inviting space for all.
DIGITAL SIGNS
Our strategically placed digital sign serves as a first point of contact – inviting residents and visitors alike to explore, connect, and engage with our community.
DOWNTOWN ILLUMINATION PROJECT
Our skyline is shining bright with the Aberdeen Main Street Downtown Illumination Project. We will light up the outlines of our historic buildings, bringing a whole new glow to our evenings and brightening the heart of our downtown, one building at a time. This project was made possible thru ARPA grant funding.
ABERDEEN FARMERS MARKET
Farmers Markets are important because it supports local farmers and small businesses, provides fresh and healthy food options, strengthens the local economy, and creates a welcoming gathering place that connects the community. Vendors and Customers come from across the region for our weekly market.
CANNING CLASS
Aberdeen Main Street collaborated with the local Monroe County Extension Office to offer a community canning class focused on food preservation and self-sufficiency.
